About Patrick Corbett
And the PRC Memorial Golf Tournament
Patrick Ryan Corbett
Patrick Ryan Corbett, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on November 16th 2021 after a three year battle with cancer. A loving, caring, and humble man whose gentle strength was admired by all, Patrick led a life dedicated to public service. Upon graduating from Billerica Memorial High School in 2000, Patrick joined the United States Marine Corps and served as part of the Global War on Terrorism during the Iraq War, attaining the rank of Corporal. After concluding his military career, Patrick continued his public service as he became a Firefighter for his hometown of Billerica, Massachusetts.
Patrick was passionate about veteran’s issues and caring for those who have served our nation. This passion led Patrick to be a founder and key planner of the US Mechanical Open, a charity golf tournament held for many years to benefit Fisher House Boston, an organization that provides military families housing support free of charge while a loved one is receiving medical care. The US Mechanical Open raised tens of thousands of dollars for Fisher House Boston over several years thanks to the efforts of Patrick and a team of dedicated volunteers.
Following Patrick’s passing in 2021, the US Mechanical Open was renamed in his memory and to continue his legacy of support for veteran’s issues. Proceeds from The PRC Memorial Golf Tournament currently support Fisher House Boston and previously provided seed funding for a scholarship fund named for Patrick that annually supports one graduate of Billerica Memorial High School who represents Patrick’s passion for community service.
